REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Angela Okey 4/01/2020 10:51 AMWell, since the city and township got rid of glass recycling for our community, I feel everyone is affected by that. However, hopefully, that will be changing very soon. It is good to see how many people were concerned when no one could no longer recycle glass.
Others affected by environmental irresponsibility are those who live along the lake and have troubles due to erosion, those in areas where there is more pollution. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Angela Okey 4/01/2020 10:45 AMIt keeps you grounded and makes you appreciate what you do have rather than what you don't have. It also lets you look at those with less than you do and makes you want to help them more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Zero-Waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Angela Okey 4/01/2020 10:40 AMI try to use as much of a vegetable as I can. Since I have a worm composter whatever I don't use I put in the compost bin. Also many vegetables with a soft skin, such as zucchini, can be cooked with the skin on. -
