REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?
Taryn Baxter 4/20/2020 5:08 PMSpending time outdoors helps me (and I'm sure many other people) be more focused when I go back to work. I have found that I am more motivated if I start my day with physical activity. Also, in light of current events it can boost your immune system to spend times outdoors. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Taryn Baxter 4/18/2020 11:29 AMIt is definitely easier to do this challenge because of quarantine, but I am still trying to do mostly everything online. My friends and I had a Zoom meeting today instead of all separately driving our cars and meeting somewhere. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Taryn Baxter 4/17/2020 10:31 AMIt's very easy for me to just not buy plastic water bottles because of where I live. I know other places aren't as lucky because they don't have a clean water source, but I also always carry a reusable water bottle with me. I don't know about other areas of the world, but it's almost a fashion statement to have a Hydroflask or a Yeti where I'm from. It's definitely looked down upon to be holding a plastic water bottle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How do we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Taryn Baxter 4/17/2020 10:17 AMI agree with Kathleen Dean Moore. I think the more you appreciate something, the more you want that thing to succeed and stay healthy. Everyday it is important to be grateful for the things around you. It doesn't always have to pertain to nature; however, nature is our livelihood and therefore important to revere as such. As a society I think it's important that we protect the resources we all share.
