  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Five minute showers are an impressive step toward reducing your water footprint. What is the next step you can take?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:22 PM
One step that I could take to further reduce my water footprint is to reuse grey water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:21 PM
For quality time with friends, I could invite friends to do a workout with me or I could go to an exercise class to be part of a group. For spending time in nature, I could exercise outside.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:20 PM
I can always turn off lights when I leave a room, like I usually do, and be more aware of how my actions can use up more energy than is really necessary.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Limit Social Media
Social media can keep us connected with loved ones, make us laugh, and help us to learn new things. It can also take more time than we realize or intend to give. After doing this action for a few days, how do you feel? What do you notice?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:18 PM
I feel like I spend more time doing other things like reading and doing other things rather than just scrolling through social media to kill some time.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Meditate
What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:17 PM
I would like to spend more time reflecting on what I love about the world around me and how I can find peace within myself.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:15 PM
There's more time to notice things when I am walking rather than driving. It's sometimes nice to take more time to notice the small things rather than rapidly pass them by in order to get somewhere more quickly.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "...our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." Respond to Berry's assertion.

I like how every sunrise and sunset is slightly different. The colors may be similar but the formations of clouds and the way the light is reflected makes each one a new experience. It can help us to realize that even if our schedules are the same from day to day, there is always something new to notice and appreciate, just like in the sunrise and sunset.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Happiness
How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

    Sharon Niedringhaus's avatar
    Sharon Niedringhaus 4/26/2020 7:09 PM
It can help you to remember what you like about yourself, those around you, and the world and help you to make sure those things remain a part of the world for you and everyone else.
