I love walking around my neighborhood. Walking instead of driving allows me to connect more with my neighborhood and take a closer look at all the things it has to offer. In some cases, walking is even faster than driving. Whether it be a long walk down to the National Mall, a moderate walk to the grocery store, or a quick lap around the neighborhood, it's always refreshing to explore on foot.

I have spent the last two weekends clearing my yard of weeds and enriching the soil. I then planted vegetables and flowers that attract local pollinators in the garden beds. I also re purposed a pallet that my neighbor was going to throw away into a vertical plant hanger for fresh herbs. By planting herbs and vegetables, this will help me eat local and prepare more zero waste meals.
