Mariana Past 4/21/2020 7:49 AMSo on the next to the last day of this challenge, I can share a final water-saving strategy that has worked well thus far. Placing a full liter bottle in the tank of the toilet has...NOT affected efficacy of water flow, despite some early concerns on the part of my better 2/3, heh heh. No idea how much water this has saved. I may sneak a second bottle in there and push the envelope a bit further. ; ) -
Mariana Past 4/20/2020 7:05 AMVery proud to say that composting's now a habit for my family! Didn't take too much browbeating...just a little...and we're looking forward to using some greatly-improved organic soil when planting herbs, etc. in a couple of weeks. -
Mariana Past 4/18/2020 3:30 PMSuper chilly in Carlisle today. This is totally insignificant, but...this morning I decluttered a collection of cat toys - and under the sofa discovered the fake mouse my tabby had been noisily chasing around as I tried to teach a virtual class on Zoom the other day. -
Mariana Past 4/13/2020 6:32 AMIt's a rainy mid-April morning, and as no one has yet shown up to virtual office hours, I'm stealing a moment to post. Surreal as present circumstances seem, any small steps we can collectively take to build more sustainable habits - while hunkering down - will have lasting impact. Go, team! Let's win this thing! OK, back to Zoom. -
Mariana Past 4/05/2020 6:09 PMGoing well, though I admit to lurching back & forth at times (focus time is tough with the whole family in the house).-
Mariana Past 4/10/2020 5:28 PMCats zoom bombed my class yesterday.

Mariana Past 4/05/2020 5:45 PMI reactivated our compost bin after the winter by pouring in some water, adding eggshells and orange peels, and giving it several whirls. Very exciting!-
Mariana Past 4/10/2020 5:29 PMAdded banana peels and lots of other stuff this morning and gave it several whirls. Almost as good as going to the Kline Center, ha ha!
