Water Say No to Plastic Straws
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

In the Dickinson environment I was a lot better about not using single use plastics. Since graduating and now being home with my family during COVID, the lack of structure has not helped my use. I always use plastic bags and If I'm getting coffee It Is often a disposable cup and straw. I know I can use reusable bags for the grocery store but when purchasing coffee I am not even allowed to bring a reusable cup any more because of COVID--- thoughts on this? My only solution Is buy less coffee and drink It at home which I am doing because I am not out as often.

First bit of advice is to give yourself permission to relax during this period of staying at home and not beat yourself up over disposable coffee cups. The work you are doing to help change the politics in PA and nationally is admirable, and if you need coffee in disposable cups to fuel that, that's fine. If you have a thermos, you might make a big pot of coffee and fill it up before you leave the house. But again, don't sweat the small beans (weak pun attempt).

Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

Since the crisis, I've been taking a morning walk before and during my consultant call. I have a route In my neighborhood that Is about 3 miles and I find It to be very relaxing. I go at the same time every day (usually 7:45/8) and then I come back ready and focused for the day. My awareness of the route Increases each day and there are certain subsets I love about the neighborhood. I've found solace In walking and now I'm averaging about 15,000 steps a day.

Before moving home due to the coronavirus, I would be lucky If I got 6 hours of sleep. I am challenging myself to get at least 7, Ideally 8. Feeling like I am able to go to bed earlier because I am home all day certainly helps.

Update-- so far so good. I have been trying to go to bed before 11 pm which Is pretty easy when you don't have to commute any where for work. I also find myself to be more tired towards to end of the day which surprised me!

Hello everyone! Thank you for Inviting me to this challenge-- with the lifestyle changes due to the coronavirus I have not driven my car in about 2 weeks when I used to be in it constantly. I am also getting outside a lot more--- same with my family. Excited to get others in on this challenge!!
