I am sorry I wasn't engaged sooner. The challenge went quickly.
  • Reflection Question
    Water Eco-friendly Gardening
What are the most prominent water concerns in your area? Examples include drought, flooding, pollution, access, security, and privatization.

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:49 PM
Sea level rise and having clean water.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Recycle Everything I Can
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:48 PM
When food contaminates paper and plastic recycling items.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:46 PM
Continue to look at how other countries minimize packaging.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:44 PM
I will commit to subscribing to more electronic statements.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:43 PM
I have been known to put items in my pockets, then unload at the cashier. LOL!
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Carry my Trash
What one thing could you do right away to reduce your waste?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:42 PM
have less take out containers from restaurants.
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Work from Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. Are you in an industry that would allow you to work from home? What are some obstacles you might find yourself facing while working from home?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:41 PM
Telehealth in these times, has broken a lot of barriers and has demonstrated its effectiveness, along with many benefits.
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Conduct Virtual Meetings
How can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:38 PM
Virtual meetings have been more productive and saved on a lot of travel time.
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Drive Less
How has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

    Bernadette Wheeler 4/26/2020 4:37 PM
I try to buy cars that have better gas mileage, and I aspire to move closer to work.
